安全套接字层 (SSL) 证书是免费的

令人惊奇的是，有些 (许多?) 托管公司仍在对安全套接字层收费 (SSL) 证书, whereas those are now free:

• 使用 WHM/cPanel 使用 Let’s Encrypt (并且续订是免费的 & 自动的!)
• or using a third party like SSL For Free.

The word needs to go out that SSL is not an expense any more. Some certificates show a green bar in the browser (叫 “EV” SSL for “Extended Validation”) which means that the legal existence of the company is double checked (by a human). Those EV SSL are completely worthless: they do not improve the encryption. Consider this: 10 big IT companies have been reviewed and none of them are using EV SSL!

结论: if you really want to invest for your business it will be better to spend your money towards Get Proper Hosting™.
