Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) todistukset ovat ilmaisia

On aivan hämmästyttävää, että jotkut (monet?) hosting-yritykset veloittavat edelleen Secure Sockets Layerista (SSL) todistukset, whereas those are now free:

• joko WHM/cPanelilla Let’s Encryptin avulla (ja uusiminen on ilmaista & automaattinen!)
• or using a third party like SSL For Free.

The word needs to go out that SSL is not an expense any more. Some certificates show a green bar in the browser (called “EV” SSL for “Extended Validation”) which means that the legal existence of the company is double checked (by a human). Those EV SSL are completely worthless: they do not improve the encryption. Harkitse tätä: 10 big IT companies have been reviewed and none of them are using EV SSL!
