新的图像格式: WebP

客户刚刚部署了新的图像格式: WebP. 很遗憾: it is 不是 supported by many browsers (截至今日), 包括苹果台式机 & 使用 Safari 的设备.

虽然节省的文件大小超过 20% against TinyPNG, 向后兼容确实更重要. So we will have have to wait some more years before WebP is widely adopted. 花了 10 years for PNG to be included in Windows and other Operating Sytems (操作系统), so adoption might not be before 2020 (at least).
